Magnolificate.........

.....is not the vanillarisation of an interior but the moment the wonderful magnolia's abundant carpels open to display their magnificent blooms. Fossilised specimens of the species have been dated back 20 million years!

But, having returned from a gloriously sunny Copenhagen on Saturday, it was the Danes and their exceptional command of the English language that was in my thoughts today.

It is truly humbling to have a peoples communicate, in a language not native, more eloquently than one is able to as a native and so it is with the Danes.

In all my days in business I have never been treated so hospitably during a day of appointments as I was on Friday.

8.30 am @ Vestas - coffee, apple juice, water, tea and chocolate croissants

10.00 am @ PFA Asset Management - water, coffee, tea, fresh fruit pot

11.00 am @ Lundbeck Fond - coffee, water, tea and biscuits

12.00 am @ PKA AIP - apple juice, water (mit & sin gas) coffee and a choice of delicious lunch rolls

1.00 pm @ PensionDanmark - water, coffee, declined other food

2.30 pm @ PenSam - coffee, tea, water and biscuits

Recently knocked off the perch as the happiest country in the world by Norway, the Danes nonetheless seem very content and confident despite the loss of the mantle. If it is possible that a more confident and happy nation exists in Norway then the sonner I visit the better!

Hats off to you Denmark - you are inspiring.
